Family!!

Daughter and I :)

The past week has been hectic but great, my daughter finally came home after nearly a year in India...I wish she could stay here forever but its just for 2 months. Everything was great the first couple of weeks and then she got sick, Hepatitis A the doctors said and was hospitalized for 10 days, poor girl was yellow and had no appetite at all. I was so worried because her blood wouldn't clot also with having this disease being a virus, there’s no drugs that help her recover except drinking loads of water to flush out the toxins.

Every morning she had to give blood so they could check her liver levels, when she was admitted the doctor said 2 days but she ended up staying in hospital for 10 days, I was working so it was for the best I guess,  I would have been sick with worry being at work and she alone at home. Good thing as well she got sick here in Germany and not India so I could see her and she got the best care here. Germany has good doctors and hospitals. The food was awful she said, but then again she hated food those days.

Poor girl was in isolation and we had to wear these flash scrubs with masks and hats, worst fear for me was that I work with kids I would infect them but since I had jaundice as a child I am immune, that didn’t stop the Ministry of health here in Germany calling me and telling me to wash my hands after using the loo, like who doesn’t do that anyways, they also asked me to buy some special anti bacterial hand wash which  I did. All very annoying I’m immune ffs!!

She has been out now for the past 3 weeks, enjoying the last of her vacation, not sure what Im going to do when she leaves again mid September, She will be back for Christmas...hopefully get into Uni and stay here with us for a few more years. I miss my kids its been 2 years since I last saw my son, he will be here for Christmas as well, I cant wait. I just hope its not so cold this year though. 2 years ago when he visited it snowed like crazy.

Im enjoying summer the last of it, my daughter is out most days with her boy friend, secretly its nice having her here but not having to put up with all her crap, Kids you love them and will do anything for them but I have gotten used to being alone with hubby now. They have their own lives and I have mine, its not easy working and picking up after them especially at their ages, 21 and 22 and the hours they keep...

I also got to see my cousin after 32 years, It was like we were never apart, she now lives in Australia with her German husband, was so nice catching up with them and getting to know her husband, since my hubby is also German it was great, they stayed a day with us and we managed to do so much together, we also met his brother who lives here in Germany close to us so we have been keeping in touch. Nothing like family I guess, friends here are hard to find, so having some more family close by makes us happy. I am still not fluent in German, his wife speaks no English, but we manage to converse :)

Its like my in laws they also don’t speak any English but Im now trying to speak to them in German, I have a long way to go but I will learn the language even if it kills me, I know I will learn...on that note, till next time tschüß!!
