So I have work!!

September I found a job at hubby's its a part time job but gives me something to wake up to every morning . I also get to wear my office clothes that I used in Bahrain...no one in Germany dresses up for work,  it's all Jeans or weird stuff some of the girls wear...some times I wonder if they have any friends or a mirror even. Ok maybe not this extreme :)

Work is tagging newspapers from the 1920 to the 1930's right now, its all in Dutch but I find myself reading the headlines sometimes, and when I get to someones birthday like my mom's hubby's or the kids it makes me smile. I have also learnt a few historical things as I tag every day, its a mind boring job but as I said something is better than nothing. The fact I am thrilled to get all dressed up and go in everyday tells you something. That I appreciate the opportunity to be able to work at all.

German language skills are still no where near being fluent for a full time job, so I trudge along at this, sometimes I don't have any work and some days I do...it does irritate me that I have no fixed routine but since I'm on a break from German lessons I hope to go back in a few months time. This is great, but some how not the same, I'm so used to my office space, my own telephone, my stuff on the desk, here I use the same computer but some how its not your computer or the desk, you cant surf the internet or anything. I come in do my stuff and leave.

People don't really talk to you either, thats fine as I like listening to music and have my ipod on and getting on with the job, given you  have the same thing every day. I do like working in an office though, they have a nice coffee machine, fruit, mineral water and also a snack box with chocolate and peanuts, you have to pay for what you eat at the snack box, every piece of candy or nuts costs 70 cents and there is this little box for money near the snack box. I love how honest the Germans are, they trust that if you take a candy bar you will pay for it, hubby says sometimes they do have a descrepency in the box but something like a few euros, which in my book is good, where I come from no one would pay up and for sure eat all the stuff, or it would be locked.

I take the bus every day and get a ride home with hubby so that works out well. I went shopping for a pair of office shoes which I'm putting to good use. I start work in the afternoon's for 4 hours mostly and the other day came in to work in a dress, I did have on stockings and a guy says to me...What's this you wearing a dress its not summer, I said its warm outside...Germans and their coats and scarves, jeez its not even Autumn yet, ok maybe it is a bit chilly in the mornings but not cold enough for hats and boots and winter coats, they all wearing them already...the mind boggles.  I refuse to wear winter clothes, just not yet, soon enough though :( Not looking forward to that....

I was even called honey bunny at work the other day...ok it was hubby, I laughed so did the guy sitting opposite me, hubby says, so what do I call you, by your first name? Now that would be weird...bless its nice working with him, he finds me odd I'm all quiet and soft spoken and that blows his mind...Well thats how work me is, at least till I get used to the people not that I show them my true side totally, I guess thats for my friends and family...

On that note...till next time
Tchuss!!
